Three Days in Asheville: The Weekend Itinerary You’ve Been Missing

Two nights gives you barely enough time to unpack. Arrive Friday, explore Saturday, then you’re zipping up your suitcase Sunday morning before you’ve even had time to relax. Sound familiar?

Here’s what three days in Asheville actually looks like—and why you’ll wish you’d booked that extra night sooner.

Day 1 (Thursday) – Arrive & Unwind

Check in and settle into your room at Pinecrest—no agenda, no rush. After a long drive, the best plan is no plan.

Head to one of our Montford neighborhood favorites for dinner:

  • Nine Mile (233 Montford Ave) – Caribbean-inspired, vegetarian-friendly fare with laid-back island vibes. Open 4pm-9pm daily. Note: they don’t take reservations.
  • Tall John’s – Elevated comfort food in a cozy atmosphere.  Reservations accepted for table or walk-ins welcome at the bar.
  • All Day Darling – Modern American with a relaxed neighborhood feel.  Very casual, counter service with nice outdoor patio.

Return to Pinecrest and call it an early night. That’s the point of Thursday—decompressing from travel so you wake up Friday actually refreshed.

Day 2 (Friday) – Biltmore Estate

After breakfast at Pinecrest, spend the day at America’s largest home. Tour the Biltmore House (plan at least 2-3 hours), stroll the gardens, and visit the winery for tastings.

This spring, stick around after dark for Lumiere—an outdoor projection experience on Biltmore House beginning March 26,2026. Tickets available now ranging from 1-day Lumiere to a 2-day experience including 60-minute exclusive expert-guided Biltmore House tour followed by a self-guided Luminere evening visit.  We have a promo code to save $8/ticket.

Plan to eat on the Estate—book your reservation in advance on OpenTable as restaurants sell out quickly, especially on weekends. Choose from:

  • Cedric’s Tavern
  • The Bistro
  • Village Social
  • The Dining Room at The Inn on Biltmore Estate

Insider tip: The Library Lounge at The Inn serves light bites and cocktails without reservations if you want something more spontaneous.

Day 3 (Saturday) – Blue Ridge Parkway

After breakfast, head south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Check out our complete guide to exploring the Parkway for specific overlooks, short hikes, and photo stops worth your time.

The Parkway rewards visitors with stunning mountain vistas and accessible trails. Whether you’re chasing waterfalls, hunting for the perfect vista photo, or simply enjoying the drive, give yourself at least half a day.  Before heading out, we have a QR code in our foyer; scan to check real-time road closures on the BRP.

For dinner back in Asheville, explore our guide to Asheville’s best restaurants and pick your own adventure—whether you’re craving farm-to-table, international flavors, or craft beer and burgers.

Day 4 (Sunday) – Depart Refreshed

Sleep in and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Pinecrest. Late checkout is available if you’d like extra time—just ask when you book.

If your drive allows, spend the morning exploring downtown Asheville’s shops and galleries before heading home. Unlike that rushed Sunday morning checkout at 11am, you’ll actually feel like you had a vacation.
