As the pandemic drags on, you need to take care of yourself. According to a recent survey sponsored by the United States Travel Association, travel can generate happiness and alleviate stress. Booking a trip—just getting it on the calendar–might be the very thing needed to restore our emotional immune system after months of mounting uncertainty and stress. We’ve even adapted our cancellation policy for peace of mind. If you need to cancel within 14 days of your arrival, your deposit will be turned into a gift certificate for a future stay, no questions asked.
Travel to Our City
Asheville is ideally located in the Blue Ridge mountains with plenty of wide-open spaces. The city has also embraced safety precautions with a cute bear seen all over town who reminds us of the 3Ws: Wear mask, Wait 6 feet, and Wash hands.
We’ve curated a list with plenty of ideas of how to embrace self-care when you travel to Asheville. Perhaps it’s a short car ride away as Asheville is within 600 miles of 50% of the US population. Or maybe a staycation is what a local needs for a change of pace.
Stay: Pinecrest Bed &Breakfast is ideally located in the historic Montford district on a quiet residential street. Included in every stay is our fresh hot breakfast served at 9 am plus beverages, cookies, and snacks 24/7 located on the sun porch.

Stroll: Take our “Sights to See in Montford” walking tour. Hop on the Reed Creek Greenway just outside our door and walk to the Asheville Botanical Gardens on the UNC-Asheville campus. Or meander toward downtown Asheville, an easy one-mile walk on tree-lined streets.
Shop: Ware is a local sustainable lifestyle store that carries intentional, ethical, low-waste products for humans and homes. Buy a bath bomb cube to bring back to the B&B and enjoy a soak in one of our vintage clawfoot tubs.
Sip: Elevate the art of tea drinking with a visit to High Climate Tea Company. They provide their customers with the purest teas on the planet, grown without chemicals or pesticides.
Soak: Be pampered at C&Co. Specializing in plant-based beauty products, their spa menu offers a Foot Soak, Scrub, and Massage service. The Seasonal + Citrus soak is particularly appealing with aromatherapy to match the season.
Savor: If lunch at a sidewalk cafe is on the agenda, our favorite spot, Bomba, is in the heart of downtown on Pack’s Square. The menu is a mix of breakfast and lunch favorites with a Latin flair, pastries, and coffee. We’re partial to the Bomba Roll or ½ Chicken. It’s a great spot for people-watching and a mimosa!

Sweets: bring home sweets from Asheville Chocolate. These chocolates start with farm-fresh cream from local Jersey cows and pure Belgian chocolate which result in truffles with creamy centers and crisp chocolate shells. Build your own assortment box to indulge in later.
Sunset: Options abound to catch a stunning sunset (weather permitting.) Make a reservation at the Montford Rooftop Bar for unobstructed western views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This sleek hangout features small bites and seasonally driven craft cocktails. From flatbreads to tater tots to wings, everything is made in house and pairs beautifully with their drink menu. Some of the most spectacular colors we’ve witnessed come about half an hour after the sun dips below the mountain range. Order another drink and wait for it.
This is just a quick glimpse into some of the ways to step away from the ordinary and embrace the vibe of Asheville.
