A Romantic Guide to Asheville in 2021

Asheville is tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the perfect spot for a romantic getaway with plenty of social distancing. Pinecrest Bed & Breakfast will be celebrating the entire month of February, welcoming couples to enjoy our complimentary “Turndown and Truffles” service. We’ll fluff your pillows and leave port & truffles for a sweet snack before you turn in for the evening. We have plenty of other ideas on how to turn up the romance this year.

Valentine’s Day happens to fall on Sunday in 2021 so why not make it a three day weekend? Arrive on Friday for 3 nights to take advantage of all Asheville has to offer like these ideas:

Hike
The ultimate activity is a good walk outdoors in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We recommend Catawba Falls for its proximity to the city and clearly marked trails. For the more adventurous, park at Ox Creek Road to access the trail to Rattlesnake Lodge for peek-a-boo long-range views.

If you are just looking for a good walk, take the Reed Greenway from Pinecrest to the Botanical Gardens at Asheville on the campus of UNCA.

Shop
Look for some locally made art in the River Arts District. The newly completed French Broad River Greenway follows the river. Park your car and walk from gallery to gallery on a sunny day.

The shops in downtown Asheville carry a wide variety of merchandise such as clothing, pottery, art, and honey. Chocolates are in order for February so why not shuffle for truffles? Within walking distance are French Broad ChocolatesThe Chocolate Fetish, and Asheville Chocolate who all carry handmade truffles. Try some from all three for a truffle taste-off to choose your favorite!

Dine
Restaurants in Asheville are operating at reduced capacity which makes reservations very important, especially on weekends.  For covered outdoor dining, we recommend RhubarbBouchon, or Copper Crown.

If takeout suits you, eat in our sunporch or upgrade to our Private Dining package which includes delivery service and set up in our parlor so you can have a restaurant-quality experience without ever leaving the B&B.  We have plenty of recommendations so let us help you find the food that suits you best.

Sunset
Nothing says romance like taking in a stunning sunset view with the one you love.  We can’t control the weather but we can recommend a socially distanced sunset at  Lookout Mountain Loop Trail, less than 2 miles from Pinecrest.  Take a blanket, your camera, and some hot cocoa to watch the sunset with sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and downtown Asheville in the distance.

Pamper Yourselves
Consider adding one of the many upgrades we offer such as chocolates, bubbles, roses, or a charcuterie tray. Treat yourself to an in-room couples massage. Call us at (828)281-4275 to customize your experience!  Reservations also available on our secure website so you can book direct at your convenience.
