Nine Mile is literally right around the corner, one block from our b&b but a world away in flavor. The Caribbean menu is freshly prepared with flavorful, colorful ingredients of the islands. Many of the dishes revolve around chicken, fish, and vegetables served in sauces over pasta, rice or zucchini noodles which adapt well to special dietary needs. Some of our favorites are the nachos, seared tuna salad, or the ever-changing daily special. Locals continue to vote Nine Mile as their perennial Favorite Restaurant in the WNC awards for 4 straight years. Open for lunch or dinner 7 days a week, they don’t take reservations but it’s worth the wait!

Chiesa (Italian for church) is two blocks south of Pinecrest, located in a historic building that once housed a Piggly Wiggly and most recently, Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. In that spirit of giving, each month Chiesa features a local nonprofit making a difference. Guests who feel so inclined may make a donation to the Community Box (the poor box used to collect coins for charitable contributions in most churches built before the 19th century) and Chiesa will match up to $500. This Italian restaurant serves up house-made pasta from family recipes featuring seasonal local ingredients. We recommend the Brussels Sprouts Hash, Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Ravioli add Red Tomato Gravy with Hickory Nut Gap Farm Beef, and the Pan Seared Atlantic Scallops. Save room for their house-made desserts! Reservations are accepted and encouraged although the patio, weather permitting, is first come, first serve.

All Day Darling, a ½ mile walk from Pinecrest, serves community fresh daily baked goods, hearty salads, bowls, toasted seasonal dinner specials, and snacks. Open from 7am-9pm with one menu all day, this neighborhood hangout is a collaboration between Table (Chef Jacob Sessoms) and High Five Coffee. Counter service and a nice patio make this a good spot for a casual meal.
